The wheel story, made to go round!!!!!!

Cycle Surgery winter series round 3

This is coming up with another month sneaking by it is only 1 1/2 weeks until round 3. With the middle of the series rapidly approaching the all important points are up for grabs as well as some fun riding on our spectacular tracks. As promised last month we will run a loop that gives recreational and children a free run at the tracks without the pressure of  being passed. There will be more spot prizes up for grabs thanks to our valued sponsors Cycle Surgery, who are still offering to look over the children's bikes to ensure safety and enjoyment of all. If you have any concerns please take them up on this great offer.  NOTE we picked up after Sundays round a Blue Fila child's hoody if this belongs to you please be in touch, otherwise it may end up in the spot prizes.

2014/2015 memberships
These are still due, if you have not re joined for this year please jump online and do this, not only do you save money on race day it also assists in funding applications. More funding = More tracks. If you are having any problems with this please contact Yvette at info@southlandmtbclub.co.nz

AB Equipment Winter Solstice 8 hour
What an event!!!!! Thanks to all 260 + riders who made the event what it was, the weather was kind, the track was great and everyone we spoke to had an outstanding day. Results for the day are now up online at www.southlandmtb.co.nz check out your times and compare them to your rivals. Thanks also to the generous sponsors AB Equipment, Wensleys Cycles, Hirepool, Invercargill breweries, Pure South, S.I.T massage students (these guys were awesome if you didn't get a chance then check them out on site at S.I.T, they have workshops every week), and Zookeepers in association with Mocha Rocka coffee. These people helped immensely with the event being what it was and in the process raised around $1000 to be split between Child Cancer and Hospice, Both of  these are very worthy causes and we are proud to be able to assist with their fundraising efforts.
Thanks to the committee and club members who helped set up, take down and run the event it is a huge undertaking and your outstanding assistance did not go unnoticed.
Roll on next winter!!!!!!

Club meeting
This will be held at Sport Southland on Tuesday the 8th July starting at 7.30pm. All welcome please feel free to come along, If you want to bring a plate don't be shy.

Sandy Point Forestry activity
Unfortunately the time is drawing close that the machinery will move back into Sandy and remove some more trees. This is not far away and they will be logging around the Waddick and Big Mac areas. As unfortunate as it may seem the council are very good at working with us around this and we will get the tracks back up and running as soon as we can. Please obey all logging signs and refrain from crossing the tapes at any stage. If this was to happen the potential of them closing the forest while the work is undertaken would be very high so lets respect their wishes and retain the use of the other tracks.
Thanks for your support in this matter.

With the 8 hour out of the way that means the days start getting longer, Summer is coming keep up the training see you on the trails!!!!!!
