Through the (Christmas) trees !!!!!!!!!!!
Ride Cycles single speed champs
This long awaited event is just around the corner. Friday
the 12th December at the Sandy Point trails. As always it promises to
have a great atmosphere, outstanding course and some delicious beverages from
our own Invercargill Brewery. If you are under age or do not wish to drink
alcohol there will be another option. You don't need to own a single speed to
have a go, come on down we will select a gear for you and lock out the others
so you can participate. This is the last event before Christmas for the club so
please come down and join in. Any questions regarding single speed racing feel
free to drop in to Ride Cycles and ask Pete, it is one of his favourite topics.
While you are there check out what he has on offer for this Christmas.
NOTE: Please keep in mind the
reduced breath alcohol level and ensure you have a sober driver to get home
safely, if you have any issues with getting a ride home please be in touch and
we can sort something out.
Cycle Surgery 2015 Bike demo day.
This will be held at the sandy point mountain bike tracks on
Friday December the 12th starting from 4pm. Come out and try some
new season bikes and see if something fits you for size. This is a great chance
to talk to the dealers and find out which bike is the right fit for you. Please
bring some ID and your helmet and pedals if you have a preference. The team
will do the rest and fit you to the bike. Please come along and check out the
bikes and support the team that so generously supported our winter series.
Welcome Rock Trails
These officially open to the public tomorrow Monday the 8th
of December. A few of us went up and checked out this track and all the scenery
it has to offer, It is a spectacular ride with some stunning views of the
surrounding area. If you have a spare day or even choose to overnight check
them out on Facebook
, it will be well worth your while.
Wensley's Cycles Kid Skids
This was a great day out, with 51 of Southlands finest up
and coming riders fronted, on what proved to be the best day of November
(weather wise). With the generous support of Rob and Sandra and the team at
Wensley's cycles everyone had a great time and walked away with amazing spot
prizes. A lollie Scramble to follow, a great day was had by all.
With 60ish riders forgoing the Santa parade and turning up
at Sandy for a race instead, this was another great afternoon of riding. Loads
of spot prizes and complimentary beverage's thanks to Nathan and the team at
Speight's the day couldn't have gone better. Thanks to the sponsors and all who
turned up to ride.
I would like to say a very big Thank-you to all the
committee and families, helpers, club members, Invercargill City Council, our
sponsors, coaches and everyone else who have assisted in so many ways this
year. The club has had a very successful year with some outstanding events, a
growing network of trails and a great family vibe. We have had record numbers
of riders to events and this looks set to increase in the coming year. This
cannot happen without everyones support and we are very appreciative of this.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Safe and Happy New
