Southland Secondary Schools Sport (SSSS) office was established by the 16 (now 15) Southland Secondary Schools in the early 1990's.

A management committee of 3 Southland Principals, 1 member of Sport Southland and 2 Sports Coordinators oversees the delivery.

SSSS operates under both the New Zealand Secondary Schools Sports Council (NZSSSC) constitution and within Sport & Recreation New Zealand (SPARC) outcomes. Reference can be made to their respective web sites www.nzsssc.org.nz and www.sparc.org.nz.

The office is supported financially by each of the 15 Southland secondary schools (administration and staffing) and by SPARC (wages and delivery) as well as by the Invercargill Licensing Trust (events) and the Community Trust of Southland (sport development).

• The director will offer to help Regional Sports Organisations in organising South Island or National secondary school events allocated to Southland, which have been sanctioned by the NZSSSC.
• The director will offer to help Regional Sports Organisations in organising regional and provincial secondary school events that are being held in Southland.
