Individual entry is $25.
Team entry - 3 team members $75, 2 team members $50.
Entries close Online on Thursday 1st March 2012, 5pm and manual entries on Friday 2nd March 2012, 4pm.
REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS
A $5 admin fee will be retained for any cancellations before 5pm on Friday 2nd March.
No refunds will be given for any cancellations after 5pm on Friday 2nd March.
If the event is cancelled due to extreme weather or any other factors outside the event organisers control, no refund will be given. However, t-shirts and medals will still be made available.
DISTANCES INDIVIDUAL & TEAM SECTION (distances approx)
8 - 10 yrs Swim 100m, Bike 4km, Run 1.5km
11 - 12 yrs Swim 200m, Bike 8km, Run 1.5km
13 - 14 yrs Swim 200m, Bike 8km, Run 1.5km
THE COURSE THE SWIM - will be in lanes in the pool. Each age group will start separately, starting with 8-10 years. Swimmers will leave the pool through the side entrance. THE BIKE - course goes out onto Tweed Street to Lindisfarne to Islington Street, then bike along the walk/bike track along the Otepuni stream out onto Elles Rd, Continuing around to Tweed Street to complete required laps. On the last lap you will be directed back into the cycle transition, "you must count your own laps".
4 km cyclists will do 2 laps
8 km cyclists will do 4 laps
Return your bike to transition area. THE RUN - is a 1500m 'zig-zag" of Rugby Park Stadium finishing under the "Finish" banner.
THE CYCLE TRANSITION AREA
Located on the western terrace of Rugby Park Stadium, officials will show competitors where to put bikes and bike clothing between 8:30 - 9:30am.
Helmets are to be fastened before mounting your bike.

N.B. It is extremely important that all competitors arrive on time as it is essential that this event begins on time.
RACE RULES
No assistance from family or friends - FAIR PLAY is the guiding rule.
Officials will show competitors where to put their bikes.
In the interests of safety and security, the transition area is restricted to competitors only and entry will be by displaying your race number.
Teams are to enter category of oldest team member.
You may not remove your bike until completion of the last event.
The wearing of your AMP South Financial Services Tryathlon t-shirt during the event is optional. However, you must not wear clothing which conflicts with the sponsors.
Marshalls wearing brightly coloured bibs and using directional arrows and cones will be on all sections of the course to direct you. You must obey their instructions.
The race director's decision on all race matters is final.
Swim: For safety reasons you can rest your feet on the bottom of pool during most of the swim. Children need to be able to swim 100 metres. Bike: You must have a fastened helmet and protective footwear. If your helmet is not fitted correctly you will be stopped. Bikes are to have a pre-race check by any of the following cycle stores: Gladstone Cycles, Wensley's Cycles, Outdoor World, Cycle Surgery. They will also be in attendance on race day. Run: Footwear is recommended.

We agree to comply with the rules and event instructions of the AMP South Tryathlon and enter at our own risk.
We agree that any photographs/videos taken may be used for media and promotional purposes.
We consent to the event organisers collecting the personal data provided above and retaining and using these details for the purpose of event administration and notification of future similar events.
This consent is given in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.
Parent/Guardian information may be used in major sponsors marketing.
PRIZES
There are lots of fantastic spot prizes. Spot prizes will be randomly handed out as competitors finish.
There are no prizes for placegetters as the emphasis is not on winning but giving it a try.
4 major spot prizes from Invercargill cycle stores. 4 entries will be drawn out at the conclusion of the event. Winners must be present to receive their prize, which will then be presented to them at their school assembly by Sport Southland and AMP South Representatives.
Each registered entrant who participates in the event will receive a medallion, t-shirt and a drink (courtesy of Fonterra).
You must be present to collect any spot prizes.
PARKING
Mum and Dad.....for the safety of all competitors, vehicle access during the race will be severely restricted so please do not move your vehicle during the racing. If you have to leave early please park well clear.
Pool car park will be closed.
Suggestion: Bring along a picnic lunch to enjoy after the event and don't forget to be sun smart.
