1. What date is the event on?

The 2016 NZ Schools Triathlon Champs will be held on Thursday 7 April at Jack's Point and Friday 8 April at Lake Hayes. Registrations and a course familiarisation will be held at Jack's Point on Wednesday 6 April. 

2. How do we get to Jack's Point?

Jack's Point is located on State Highway 6 along the shores of Lake Wakatipu, just 15 minutes from Queenstown. 

3. How do we get to Lake Hayes? 

Lake Hayes is located on State Highway 6 between Queenstown and Arrowtown, approximately 15 minutes from Queenstown. 

4. When does Registration take place? 

Registration will take place in the registration marquee. The registration times are outlined below:

5. Where do the events start from? 

The Individual Triathlon and Team Triathlon events will start at Jack's Point in their man-made lake. 

The Open Water Swim and Aquathon events will start on the shores of Lake Hayes. 

6. Where are the Race Briefings held? 

The race briefings for the Individual Triathlon and Team Triathlon events will be held on the respective start lines at Jack's Point. 

The race briefings for the Open Water Swim and Aquathon events will be held on the respective start lines at Lake Hayes.

9. Are Transponders and Timing being used? 

Yes, each competitor will be issued with a transponder that corresponds to their respective race number and an electronic time automatically produced. The transponder is a type of velcor 'bracelet' that you strap around your ankle and wear for the entire race (please make sure it is strapped securely around your ankle). If the transponder is not on your ankle you may not receive an official time. 

10. Do our Transponders need to be returned? 

Yes, once you have crossed the finish line, please return your transponder to one of the marshals. 

If you do not finish the event, please ensure you return your transponder to one of the marshals at the finish line. 

If your transponder is not returned, you will incur a $50.00 replacement fee. 

11. What services will be available on the courses? 

Aid Stations: water will be available at strategic locations on the respective courses as well as at the finish line. 

First Aid: will be available at strategic locations on the course and at the finish line. 

Toilets: toilets / portaloos will be available at Jack's Point and Lake Hayes. 

12. Where can I find out about Results? 

Preliminary results will be published on the event website (www.schoolstri.kiwi) within 24 hours after the completion of the event. 

13. Is there a Prizegiving for the event? 

Yes. 

The Prizegiving for the Individual Triathlon and the Team Triathlon events will be held at Jack's Point after the final Team Triathlon event. 

The Prizegiving for the Open Water Swim and Aquathon events will be held at Lake Hayes after the final Aquathon event.
